Repair of turbine components is now a procedure accepted by most operators. Few, however, have the resources to carry out the repairs themselves.

This has led to the development of companies offering repair services to turbine operators.

The repair methods and limits for flying gas turbines are detailed by the engine manufacturer and are commercially available in manuals.

This is not generally the case for heavy industrial gas turbines where each repair company has developed its own repairs.

The main techniques used in the repair of hot gas path components from industrial gas turbine are however widely used.
